Welcome to the Bulletin Board
Swine Flu
Due to the recent swine influenza activity, the Michigan Department of Community Health is being proactive with communications to health providers. The clients you serve may present unique challenges due to their movement through health service jurisdictions. As of April 28, 2009, the Michigan Department of Community Health does not recommend routine screening of these clients, but asks clinicians who serve Federally Qualified Health Clinics, rural health clinics, or migrant health clinics to be familiar with the CDC's case definition, found at http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/ and use this definition when determining whether a client is at risk for swine flu and requires testing. This case definition is changing frequently, so please check for updates often. Please refer to the Alert Details section of the Michigan Health Alert Network home page for more information.
LAWN/LEAF PROGRAM
On March 22, 2010 bagged/can Leaf Pick up begins along with brush, limb and stick removal. This service is ongoing throughout the summer and fall and typically ends the second week of November. Watch for the newsletter and the City Sign for exact dates. Yard waste must be kept separate - no limbs or sticks in the same bag as grass clippings or leaves.
BRUSH CANNOT EXCEED FOUR (4) FEET IN LENGTH OR FOUR (4) INCHES IN DIAMETER AND MUST BE IN LIFT-ABLE BUNDLES.
PAST EVENTS
The Circle of Trees held in December featured our first annual "Dog Parade". This was a lot of fun and we hope to make it a tradition. Here are just a few of the photos from the event:
In 2008 City Council hosted a new event called "Taste of the Northside". It was a great success! Check out some of the photos from the event here. It rained in 2009 but we still had a good time. Mark your calendar for 2010 - August 13.
The Bulletin Board features future events and past events photos. You may also find important information on streets, leaf pickup, or "happening" events throughout the City. Any items you would like to see included on this site may be sent to mjeske@cityofnorthmuskegon.com
